Belmont puts HQ up for sale

Belmont Housing Resources for Western New York Inc. has started the first phase of a possible relocation of its Buffalo headquarters.
Belmont has put its 24,531-square-foot building, located at 1195 Main Street, on the market for $3.5 million. The building, located just north of the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus, was constructed in 1989 and is being listed by David Schiller from Pyramid Brokerage Co. of Buffalo. The building comes with 62 on-site parking spaces.
“Just the location alone makes it prime real estate,” Schiller said. “And you have on site parking.”
If a buyer emerges, Belmont will ramp up a search for a new location for its corporate headquarters and other functions handled in the Main Street building.
Staying in downtown is Belmont’s first choice, especially with its access to public transportation that is needed by the agency’s clients and workers, said Brad Packard, Belmont director of housing development.
Besides Belmont’s corporate headquarters, the Main Street building handles a number of key functions for the agency, including Section 8 vouchers and home and financial counseling services for its clients. More than 100 people work in the building.
