“The Wilson House is coming back.
Almost one year to the day that the venerable Town of Wilson dining mainstay served its last burger, the restaurant is on a pace to reopen by early next year.
Brothers Tim and Chris White, owners of M.H. White Siding and Roofing Co. Inc. in Wilson, bought the northern Niagara County landmark, paying $200,000, according to documents filed in the Niagara County Clerk’s office.
Plans call for the restaurant to reopen with a new menu, but still playing off its history.
Interest began almost as soon as the Wilson House closed last December after owners John Cracchiola and Caren Ashkar opted to retire.
The Lake Street landmark was constructed in 1844, originally as the home for Luther Wilson, the eldest son of Reuben Wilson, the town’s founding father. By the 1920s, it was converted into the Wilsonian Club and became a restaurant just after World War II.
